Patiently Waiting (God's Testing Me)
As you all may know, I have been back in Canada for a little while because I've been waiting to get reviews done for my extension to long term. I haven't been posting because nothing has been going on but I figured it was time to send out a brief update. It seems that the reviews are taking forever! Really it's just one that's taking the longest. You know, I knew that that it might take some time when I came home but it's hard to be patient when you're so anxious to get back to normal. All I want to do is go back to the ship and get back to work assisting the project team. It's been interesting to say the least being stuck at home with nothing to do each day. I've had no reason to get up in the morning outside of not wanting to lay in bed all day long. Instead of wallowing in self pity, I get up most days and find random things to keep me busy.
I was getting discouraged but then about a month ago things started to move. When I thought everything was stalled out, I got a call with an appointment to see the doctor to begin my review! Now, it's still early stages but I have renewed hope that I will be going back to the ship soon. I don't have much information right now but I will post an update again when the reviews are done and I have a date for my return. I will probably do some more fundraising to help support me for the next two years. However I'll have to wait and see how things go. Stay tuned for more information about my return to the Global Mercy.
