Money. Money. Money.

Updated: Sep 23, 2021

Back in December, before I even applied to serve, money was the factor that was holding me back. After all, I am a recent grad with LOADS of student debt (this is what I get for going to a private school) and only a minimum-wage, casual job. I could never afford this! Little did I know that it was going to get even harder because Covid shut everything down again and I lost my job.

All I can say is that I prayed. I prayed that God would show me a way to make this work because I, a person who always feels the need to be in control (even when I can't be), need to have everything planned out before I apply. I have never done well with just hoping that everything will work out. I can do it to a point but I always like to have a plan. Well, I guess that was a lesson I was about to learn.

Needless to say, I applied regardless of not having the money to finance the trip yet. I spoke with family about the issue and I, like I've mentioned in other posts, realized that God will provide through community support. Plus, I have time to fundraise and save my own money. Especially now that I may not leave for the ship till next year!

Here in lies my not-so-shameless plea for donations. I know I am not leaving for a while anymore but, if you feel so inclined, please reach out using the contact page or donate through my PayPal button on the home screen. I promise you that all the donations are going directly into a separate account dedicated to my Mercy Ships trip next year.
